Fairs, fetes and more

Once the gite was finished and the visitors started to arrive Keith and I were able to relax and start to explore the region. We drove through the country side searching out all the wonderful towns and villages, we toured castles and attended many local fetes and festivities. We visited the local tourist information centre to buy books with information on planned walks in the region and would pack a picnic and drive out the areas where the walks began.

Now that the work on the gite and garden was finished Keith wanted another occupation so he decided to do a bit of furniture renovation. We visited brocantes that sold second hand furniture and household items where we bought beds, wardrobes and dining room furniture which we took home to renovate. We also bought various antique kitchen implements and pots and pans which Keith cleaned and painted to make them good as new.
