Live in Central France

A new beginning - life in France

Moving to France

Retirement in France seemed the ideal thing to do. Television programmes encouraged people to move to France. France ... the land of sunshine and wine. Rhae Elliott and her husband Keith decided to leave England and buy a place in France. They found an old French farmhouse in Fontvieille, a small hamlet near La Souterraine in the rolling Limousin countryside in Central France.

COTTAGE

This is the French cottage they bought. It had spacious rooms with huge oak beams. It was everything they expected from the property where they would start their new life in France.

Rhae wrote a diary recording their move to Central France. It includes: Getting a carte vital (health cover) Meeting the mairie Renovating their property Things to see and do Integrating into the French rural community.
