Rhae Elliott and her husband, Keith, left the security of their home and friends in the village of Maxey in rural England to move to the hamlet of Fontvieille, near Vareilles on the outskirts of La Souterraine in the Limousin, Central France.
They bought a typical stone built French farmhouse. In the grounds of the farmhouse was the shell of a cottage in desperate need of renovation and a barn ripe for conversion into a holiday home. They converted the cottage into a gite and used the internet to market it as a French holiday destination in the beautiful, peaceful Limousin region.

After viewing many properties Rhae and Keith were taken to Fontvieille a small hamlet near La Souterraine where they fell in love with this stone farmhouse overlooking the Limousin countryside. The beautiful views from the terrace and the spacious rooms with huge oak beams epitomised everything they expected from the property where they would start their new life in France.
